So I haven't met Ben Popp in person, although we are friends on facebook, now. He is, however, going to co-host a screening / performance event with Lori Felker, during which he will screen some of my latest (and Crispin's) short videos.

As the purpose of this blog is to illuminate the overlaps of my cultural world, I will make a point of clarifying my relationships.

Lori Felker is my adviser at FreeRadioSAIC, www.freeradiosaic.org,(the student-run radio station at the School Of The Art Institute Of Chicago), where I am the station manager (sweetest work-study position, ever!). Lori met Ben Popp at SAIC (the common denominator). Ben Popp moved to Portland, Oregon, after graduating from SAIC. Get it? "VIA CHICAGO"?

Lori Felker's work work doesn't seem to be online, but she did make some promos for the 2008 CUFF (Chicago Underground Film Festival) and they are hilarious:

Crispin Rosenkranz and I, Pippa Possible, moved to Chicago "via Portland." We know Linda Austin, who runs Performance Works NorthWest, www.performanceworksnw.org, from the time-arts scene in Portland, so we introduced Lori to Linda via facebook (another common denominator).

This entry does have a climax: on June 17th, 9pm, at Performance Works NorthWest, in Portland, Lori Felker and Ben Popp will host "VIA CHICAGO", a screening (and possible psychedelic Korean-style game show!?).

Crispin and I will not be there in the flesh, but in spirit and digital signal. Please attend, have fun, meet Lori and Ben in the flesh. Their works are amazing, funny, challenging...I would say the same about ours, but you know this already:)
